The artichoke (below) was overworked. I am now concentrating on not letting my hand (or my brain) get out of control. Keeping it simple. This is a tomato from the garden of my mother-in-law. EDM #176, something summer. Although this is something summer, yesterday was the first day I put a long-sleeved shirt on in about three months. I also started teaching my fall session classes yesterday, and my son went to his first day of preschool. Summer's over, at least around here. It was a good one, but I can't say I'm entirely sad to see it pass. I'm an autumn person.

You already know I like the artichoke for its stylized zinginess - but I love your approach to the tomato.
Glad somebody somewhere had decent summer weather this year!
These are very interesting on the color papers. You handled the color and texture of the pages very nicely. I like your style of work.
I love your tomato. I've seen those wonderfully wavey tomatoes in my own garden and can taste the freshness now. All that glory on a simple kraft paper bkgnd. Wonderful!
That is a fantastic tomato. I love it in those colors.

very lovely
Thanks everyone!
Me too...just the thought of autumn makes me giddy. I think you showed perfect restraint with this one. I love how you've emphasized some areas and let other areas just be. Very beautiful.
Three cheers for "autumn people"...a favorite of mine as well...
I really miss good old Illinois backyard garden grown tomatoes...You did a beautiful job on this drawing! :)
