Leaves last gasp

It's already snowing in Indiana, creeping closer and closer to Chicago. These leaves I collected and drew last week are most likely the last batch of really pretty ones to be found on the sidewalk, before they all turn brown and curl up. Sigh....the warm weather is really, really over.

Two of the cupcakes from Meg's second birthday. She's a sweet little lady who makes us very happy.

This is Pitt brush pen with Prismacolor layered on top-not really intentional, just trying to cover up the brush pen I didn't like so much after it was added.

Ginkgos, again

I've drawn these before, but I couldn't resist when I saw them starting to fall off one of the trees on our walking route. They're so pretty and have an interesting shape. They also remind me of the work of Frank Lloyd Wright, a favorite of mine in architecture.

I drew these Tuesday night, as the election results came in. My husband was in Grant Park at the Obama rally, and I was sitting in my favorite chair working in my sketchbook. It was a good night.
