The forgotten candy stash

I haven't updated this space in well over a month. I haven't actually drawn anything of significance in well over a month either. I was experiencing a bit of a drought, I guess.

Yesterday, while my son was at preschool and my daughter was napping, I remembered a bag of candy I bought in Chinatown, months ago, that was sitting under my bed. I had a new gray sheet of Canford cardstock, and this drawing, which needed a companion. Somehow, after a good solid block of mental fog, I started to draw again.

I was almost late picking Sean up from school, I got so absorbed. I got back to work after dinner, when the kids were in bed. I woke up at 5:30 this morning and returned to my drawing. I think I might have even dreamed about it last night. I am now finished, and it feels great to have my pens and markers back out, right where they belong.

Hey, Becky. This is FAB. The shadows, the sugar on the sweets, well just everything about it. Fab.

Wow! I LOVE how you created the wrappers - so REAL!! I remember when my dad would bring us back candy from Chinatown, the kind that had the rice paper that would melt in your mouth - thanks for the memory!
