I haven't updated this space in well over a month. I haven't actually drawn anything of significance in well over a month either. I was experiencing a bit of a drought, I guess.Yesterday, while my son was at preschool and my daughter was napping, I remembered a bag of candy I bought in Chinatown, months ago, that was sitting under my bed. I had a new gray sheet of Canford cardstock, and this drawing, which needed a companion. Somehow, after a good solid block of mental fog, I started to draw again.
I was almost late picking Sean up from school, I got so absorbed. I got back to work after dinner, when the kids were in bed. I woke up at 5:30 this morning and returned to my drawing. I think I might have even dreamed about it last night. I am now finished, and it feels great to have my pens and markers back out, right where they belong.

Wonderful drawing! Sometimes a little break is a good thing :)
I love how you did these!
So realistic and the details are amazing!
Really nice drawing! Love how you do the highlights with the whites, and they look so real! I wonder why are japanese candies doing in Chinatown...hmmmm
That's very impressive! It looks so real - great work!
wow - those highlights and shadows make the platic wrappings so realistic.
Hey, Becky. This is FAB. The shadows, the sugar on the sweets, well just everything about it. Fab.
Wow! I LOVE how you created the wrappers - so REAL!! I remember when my dad would bring us back candy from Chinatown, the kind that had the rice paper that would melt in your mouth - thanks for the memory!
